In Him We Live and Move
I feel full of life today. I am thankful for the season of life my family is in--thankful to the Lord specifically! Because "in him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28).
I am learning to see the joy and grace there is in every season. Typically, I am a forward-looker, always planning, thinking, and trying to prepare for what is next. It makes me miss out on what is in front of me, take it for granted, and grows discontentment in my heart.
But today, I am alive because God has gifted that to me. My family was able to get out and be active at a beautiful park, because in God we move. We exist because of him and experience the joys of this life by his grace toward us. Acknowledging this makes me so much more grateful to God for his many blessings. I love the fresh air and the cool breeze. I love the display of God's design in nature. I love sharing it with my family too.
At least for me, it is becoming more clear that I must look at the world this way. If I do not realize that in every moment it is God whose hand holds my existence and life intact, then life can feel pointless, or like a simple pursuit to do whatever brings me most immediate self-gratification. Its a sad existence. But knowing that God holds all things together--including my every step and breath of the day--breathes purpose and life into my soul.
Emmett is down for a nap, and Kasey is trying a new cake recipe this afternoon. So I have some time to work on Greek! Apparently, the next couple weeks of the course will be extra tough, so I am trying to make sure I have a good grip on everything we have learned so far. It is a blessing to learn. If the Father was not granting to me the life, time, and ability to learn, it would not be possible. I praise today the One in whom "all things hold together" (Col. 1:17).
"In him we live and move and have our being."
